Hagrid’s Rock Cakes

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment or silicone baking mat.

  2. In a large bowl, sift together flour, salt and baking powder.

  3. Cut in butter and shortening using a pastry cutter until mix resembled coarse crumbs.

  4. Stir in raisins, dried cherries, orange peel and brown sugar.

  5. Whisk egg and milk together and then stir into dry ingredients. Mixture should just barely hold together.

  6. Using your hands, knead mixture together and form eight biscuits on a prepared baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 15 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool on wire rack.
