Irresistible Spiced Walnuts
My family has made these Irresistible Spiced Walnuts as long as I can remember, probably since before I was born. My family used to own and operate a walnut orchard. We always had lot of wonderful walnuts around. This recipe is so popular that it has been requested many times and we are expected to bring these to holiday gatherings and office parties.
This month’s Fandom Foodies movie is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This recipe was inspired by the scene with the squirrels cracking the walnuts. Charlie states they use the squirrels because they can get the whole nut almost every time.
I must admit, I would have loved having the squirrels from the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie do the cracking. We used to get bowls of nuts and as we watched TV in the evenings, we would crack as many nuts as we could. It would take a while, but it was worth it to have nuts for our baking and the holidays. I hope your family and friends will enjoy them as much as we do.
