Haunted Mansion Fruit Salad

Haunted Mansion Fruit Salad

I wanted to come up with a Disneyland Haunted Mansion inspired dinner to celebrate Halloween and decided on a Haunted Mansion Fruit Salad as a side dish. I wanted the fruits to be black and dark, a little creepy and different to give a haunted effect. At the store I found black grapes which were perfect. In addition, I  added black plums that when cut open are a dark red color with the black skin still showing. I also added blackberries. This is a very simple dish to prepare but is yummy and a great addition to the overall meal.

When setting the table, include a bowl of the whole fruits as well, or multiple bowls around the table. The black grapes and black plums look wonderful and can be part of the meal in addition to the fruit salad. In the Haunted Mansion movie, which is also based on the ride, there were many fruits on the table along with many spider webs. The dining room looks amazing, minus maybe needing a good dusting. I would recommend watching this movie if you are a fan of the ride as there are so many fun references you will catch.
